John Ching might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rifki Sum. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. John Ching ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Windlesham FC's Rifki Sum got control of the ball when Jonathan Chan tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 27 minutes, Muhammad Hongyi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Windlesham FC and the Waterfoot players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rifki Sum was a little too slow when Aziz Seng got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 31st minute. The score was now 1-1. After having played for 35 minutes, Alexander Soon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Windlesham FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexander Soon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 36 minutes into the game, Danial Lee was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Waterfoot's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Windlesham FC the free kick. Danial Lee hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. 38 minutes into the match, Waterfoot's goal looked a bit too open when Alexander Soon came free, but Bakar Kang reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Windlesham FC fans' excitement grew in the 40th match minute when Windlesham FC's Muhammad Hongyi looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After the first half Windlesham FC were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when John Ching stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
