Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Iskandar Au got the match started through his kick off. The supporters of Ashington booed when Welford was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Haziq Tuan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Welford's zone, Faizal Soon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Famih Leng came out of the goal and Faizal Soon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bryan Rajah received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Famih Leng tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 11th minute, Welford's Haziq Tuan dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Famih Leng took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bryan Rajah, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Iskandar Au fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amirul Teo having to interfere. If Faizal Soon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 22 minutes into the game, Danish Chian was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Welford's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ashington the free kick. Danish Chian kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, Ashington's goal looked a bit too open when Iskandar Au came free, but Amirul Teo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amirul Teo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danish Chian in the 31st minute of the match. Ashington's Amirul Teo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danish Chian in the 32nd minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Ashington's goal looked a bit too open when Danish Chian came free, but Amirul Teo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Iskandar Au sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Afiq Ning fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ashington's protests and gave Afiq Ning a yellow card for diving instead. Afiq Ning kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. A hard shot by Danish Chian from long distance, 39 minutes into the match, got Amirul Teo's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After 42 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Welford! In the 46th minute, Bryan Rajah hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

52 minutes into the match, Welford's goal looked a bit too open when Faizal Soon came free, but Famih Leng reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amirul Teo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Haziq Tuan, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Amirul Teo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iskandar Au in the 56th minute of the match. 57 minutes into the match, Iskandar Au notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Ashington's Amirul Teo. Amirul Teo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Iskandar Au in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amirul Teo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Faizal Soon received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Famih Leng came out and tried to block the shot, but Faizal Soon slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 72nd minute. In the 75th minute Faizal Soon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Famih Leng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iskandar Au took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Amirul Teo. Amirul Teo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Welford's Famih Leng played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Faizal Soon in the 84th minute of play. 88 minutes into the match, Welford's goalkeeper Famih Leng had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bryan Rajah. Ashington's Faizal Soon got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bryan Rajah's late challenge caught a Welford's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bryan Rajah helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Ashington's Bryan Rajah got a free kick in the 90th minute. Amirul Teo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. When the referee ended the match the Welford players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
