Match Report
Prudhoe
Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Dale Pieng took the kick off in the first half of the match. A collision led to Timsbuy getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Nicholas Ching hit a great ball. In the 12th minute, Samuel Ching fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Bineesh Pieng, passed just outside the right post. Dale Pieng recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 15 minutes into the game, Darren Hoe was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Timsbuy's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Prudhoe the free kick. The supporters of Prudhoe booed when Timsbuy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darren Hoe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Timsbuy's Bineesh Pieng proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Timsbuy from getting a goal against them. Muhammad Chan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. John Cheng tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dale Pieng received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Bineesh Pieng tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 32 minutes into the game, Timsbuy's Nicholas Ching nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. John Cheng made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Bineesh Pieng came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Prudhoe's Dale Pieng. But to his dismay, Dale Pieng quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Samuel Ching recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Timsbuy's Bineesh Pieng proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Timsbuy from getting a goal against them. A sloppy throw-in by Alif Teo in the 42nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Prudhoe's Rudy Siong. Nicholas Ching might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over John Cheng. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nicholas Ching ran back to his position shaking his head. Muhammad Chan took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised John Cheng. John Cheng dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Muhammad Chan to strike the kick off in the second half. If Dale Pieng had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th minute Dale Pieng shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bineesh Pieng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 65th minute of the match Ronn Henderson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but John Cheng skillfully saved the ball. If Dale Pieng had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the Prudhoe defense, Nicholas Ching kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of John Cheng. The Prudhoe fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that John Cheng should have stopped the shot. After having played for 70 minutes, Dale Pieng managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Prudhoe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dale Pieng was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Dale Pieng's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bineesh Pieng was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. If Nicholas Ching had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Samuel Ching managed to get in a good position for a shot. Prudhoe's supporters rose to their feet, but Samuel Ching was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bineesh Pieng breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bineesh Pieng showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dale Pieng, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Shah Soon in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bineesh Pieng saved Timsbuy from getting behind. Bryan Abdul charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bryan Abdul the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bryan Abdul hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Samuel Ching fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bineesh Pieng having to interfere. John Cheng showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Muhammad Chan, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. John Cheng made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Muhammad Chan in the 93rd minute of play. Prudhoe's Dale Pieng got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the final whistle went the supporters of Timsbuy were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Prudhoe side.
