The audience thought a goal was coming when Zafran Singh got free with Azam Au in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Farhan Choo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 12th minute Farhan Choo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shukrie Hock saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 15th minute, Amirul Seah got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jithu Ning hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Amirul Seah received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Shukrie Hock tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Zafran Singh managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wantage United's supporters rose to their feet, but Zafran Singh was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Azam Au breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 20 minutes, Lamar Mathews managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wantage United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lamar Mathews was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 21 minutes into the game, Farhan Paine was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Botley City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wantage United the free kick. In the 21st minute, Farhan Paine hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Botley City's zone, Sharizan Hock stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Azam Au came out of the goal and Sharizan Hock tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Amirul Seah scored 1-1 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Shukrie Hock, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 28th minute, Amirul Seah ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Shukrie Hock was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Botley City's Farhan Choo pulled a muscle in his back after 32 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Bineesh Abdul fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wantage United's protests and gave Bineesh Abdul a yellow card for diving instead. In the 34th minute, Jithu Ning got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Amirul Seah had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Botley City's Azam Au got control of the ball when Zafran Singh tried to sneak it across the goal line. 41 minutes into the match, Adam Teo notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Botley City's Azam Au. Azam Au was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Amirul Seah to make the kick off. Shahiran Ramachandran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Azam Au having to interfere. Farhan Paine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shukrie Hock having to interfere. 70 minutes into the match, Wantage United's goal looked a bit too open when Amirul Seah came free, but Shukrie Hock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Zak Choy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Wantage United's Jithu Ning got a free kick in the 76th minute. Sharizan Hock received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Azam Au tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Zafran Singh's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Azam Au was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. Amirul Seah sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alan Abisheganaden couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sharizan Hock in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Azam Au saved Botley City from getting behind. Wantage United's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
