A long shot from Danish Leng in the 10th minute of play was well struck, but Sean Sarangapani made a really good save at the right post. Amirul Swee could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Sean Sarangapani made a huge save. After 13 played minutes Sheerness United got a freekick which was hit by Nicholas Soon. After 14 played minutes, Malton's Ron Dryburgh shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper SK Yeo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Malton reached it. After 15 minutes, Amirul Swee mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sheerness United and the Malton players grew even worse after the yellow card. Amirul Swee hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. In the 19th minute, Nicholas Soon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SK Yeo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Faiz Siang, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 21 minutes into the match, Sheerness United's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel Hsin came free, but SK Yeo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Malton's Sean Sarangapani got control of the ball when Amirul Swee tried to sneak it across the goal line. SK Yeo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Khai Tioe in the 27th minute of play. After some careless play in the Sheerness United defense, Faiz Siang kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of SK Yeo. The Sheerness United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that SK Yeo should have stopped the shot. After 33 played minutes Sheerness United got a freekick which was hit by Amirul Swee. Sean Sarangapani came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Sheerness United's Gara Au. But to his dismay, Gara Au quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. SK Yeo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Faiz Siang's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. Sean Sarangapani made an important save on a dangerous shot by Amirul Swee in the 43rd minute. Shahiran Seah hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. In the 44th minute of the match Amirul Swee sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sean Sarangapani skillfully saved the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nicholas Soon to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicholas Soon in the 54th minute of play forced Malton's goalkeeper Sean Sarangapani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Faiz Siang got free with SK Yeo in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sheerness United's defense didn't have a chance, in the 59th minute, when Gabriel Hsin scored to the left of an out of position SK Yeo, making the score, 1-3. Sean Sarangapani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amirul Swee in the 64th minute of play. 67 minutes into the game, Bineesh Chong cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Sean Sarangapani was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Nicholas Soon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Sean Sarangapani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gara Au hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Ron Dryburgh from long distance, 73 minutes into the match, got SK Yeo's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 74 minutes into the game, Faris Sum was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sheerness United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Malton the free kick. A collision led to Sheerness United getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Faris Sum hit a great ball. Sean Sarangapani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amirul Swee in the 77th minute of play. 79 minutes into the match, Malton's goal looked a bit too open when Gara Au came free, but Sean Sarangapani reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Malton's Sean Sarangapani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amirul Swee in the 81st minute of play. Faiz Siang could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but SK Yeo made a huge save. The Sheerness United supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Malton's performance. The match ended with a win for Malton.
