Match Report
Neaden
Spectators: 8582 (Terracing: 6400,
Seating: 2000, VIP seats: 182) Sharizan Teo made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 2nd match minute, Neaden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alam Wah to maneuver through the defense. If Jonathan Peng had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mark Lee made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danish Abisheganaden in the 9th minute of play. After having played for 12 minutes, Danish Abisheganaden managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Borahamwood's supporters crossed their fingers, but Danish Abisheganaden was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Danish Abisheganaden came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Borahamwood fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Danish Abisheganaden couldn't finish the play. In the 18th minute, Danish Abisheganaden left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Borahamwood fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. When Albert Lim fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Borahamwood's protests and gave Albert Lim a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Borahamwood's Albert Lim got a free kick in the 21st minute. The audience held their breath when Sharizan Teo in the 22nd minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Famih Abdul's left hand side. In the 23rd minute, Hafriz Ching hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Danish Abisheganaden recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Danish Abisheganaden's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mark Lee was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Mark Lee made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shah Lum in the 32nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Danish Abisheganaden managed to get in a good position for a shot. Borahamwood's supporters rose to their feet, but Danish Abisheganaden was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mark Lee breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Neaden's Mark Lee played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Shah Lum in the 35th minute of play. If Shah Lum had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albert Lim got his second yellow card in the match during the 43rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Albert Lim hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. In the 45th minute, Nicholas Tian fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Famih Abdul, passed just outside the right post. When Borahamwood's Shah Lum in the 49th minute got a chance for a shot 49th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Neaden's goalie prevented a goal. After the first half Borahamwood were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Shah Lum to strike the kick off in the second half. Borahamwood were awarded a corner in the 54th minute after Neaden's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jonathan Peng took the corner. After a rather tough play, Borahamwood's Hafriz Ching got a free kick in the 56th minute. Mark Lee made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Shah Lum sent off a good shot on target. Neaden's Mark Lee proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Neaden from getting a goal against them. Shah Lum recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 64 minutes into the match, Neaden's goalkeeper Mark Lee had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Shah Lum. 68 minutes into the match, Hafriz Ching had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mark Lee. Neaden's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hafriz Ching was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Rudy Hian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Borahamwood's Shah Lum got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Neaden's zone, Shah Lum stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mark Lee came out of the goal and Shah Lum tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Borahamwood's Hafriz Ching got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 88 minutes into the game, Borahamwood's Shah Lum nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mark Lee made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. An unexpected shot in the 92nd minute by Shah Lum got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The supporters of Borahamwood booed when Neaden was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicholas Tian didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match was over Borahamwood could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Neaden throughout the match.
