Spectators: 9000 (Terracing: 6750, Seating: 2070, VIP seats: 180) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Shah Ning started the match with the kick off. Martin Lane sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Steven Lum made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stelian Iordache in the 7th minute of play. 12 minutes into the game, Stelian Iordache recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Steven Lum. Stelian Iordache showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Steven Ramachandran had several of the Geadling's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 16 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-0 score and a disappointed Steven Lum as he didn't even see the shot coming. Steven Ramachandran might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Steven Lum. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Steven Ramachandran ran back to his position shaking his head. The Geylang River Otters fans' excitement grew in the 20th match minute when Geylang River Otters's Steven Ramachandran looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Shah Ning during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 22 played minutes Geadling got a freekick which was hit by Shah Ning. After 24 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Geadling! The goalkeeper, Steven Lum, was totally fooled by Geylang River Otters's Mark Phua, who 25 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 28 minutes into the game, Steven Ramachandran cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Steven Lum was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 32 minutes into the game, Geylang River Otters's Stelian Iordache nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Steven Lum made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. Lee Lee took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lee Gopala Pillai, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37th minute, Stelian Iordache ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Steven Lum was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-0. Stelian Iordache succeeded in the game's 41st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 9-0. Stelian Iordache blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Steven Lum having to make a save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 10-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Stelian Iordache to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rdth minute of the game Stelian Iordache who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Geadling's Steven Lum was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lee Lee showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Shah Ning, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. The audience was convinced that Steven Ramachandran's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Steven Lum was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. In the 62nd minute of the match Geylang River Otters got a corner. Geadling's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mark Phua ran over to the corner to take the kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Geadling fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 62nd minute. Penalty! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Steven Ramachandran in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Steven Lum prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Geylang River Otters fans' excitement grew in the 69th match minute when Geylang River Otters's Steven Ramachandran looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 12-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Steven Ramachandran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 77 minutes into the game, Martin Lane was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Geylang River Otters's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Geadling the free kick. Martin Lane hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Steven Ramachandran recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Geylang River Otters's Martin Lane got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Steven Ramachandran's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Steven Lum was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lee Gopala Pillai got free with Lee Lee in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stelian Iordache in the 91st minute of play forced Geadling's goalkeeper Steven Lum to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 93rdth minute of the game Steven Ramachandran who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Geadling's Steven Lum was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Geylang River Otters's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
