Eltham's Jonathan Tian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Farhan Chew in the 4th minute of play. The supporters of Eltham booed when Geadling was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Haziq Ee didn't get a good kick on the ball. 6 minutes into the game, Shafiq Hsi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Steven Lum was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 11 minutes into the match, Geadling's Lee Gopala Pillai sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Tian narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 12 minutes into the match, Eltham's goal looked a bit too open when Shah Ning came free, but Jonathan Tian reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Clive Lee scored 0-2 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Steven Lum, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Lamar Butcher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30th minute Farhan Chew shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Tian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Noh Ning might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Steven Lum. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Noh Ning ran back to his position shaking his head. Steven Lum didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Shafiq Hsi went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Eltham's Clive Lee suffered a sore foot after 38 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 38 minutes into the game, Farhan Chew was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Geadling's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Eltham the free kick. Eltham made a substitution. Amirul Tioe replaced Clive Lee. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amirul Tioe in the 42nd minute of play forced Geadling's goalkeeper Steven Lum to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amirul Tioe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Shafiq Hsi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Geadling's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jonathan Chong during the 74th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Amirul Tioe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Eltham's supporters rose to their feet, but Amirul Tioe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Steven Lum breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Steven Lum took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amirul Tioe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Steven Lum was out of position in the 93 minute of play, and Amirul Tioe capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Amirul Tioe really showed his touch with that goal: 1-5. 95 minutes into the match, Geadling's goal looked a bit too open when Lamar Butcher came free, but Steven Lum reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Shah Ning hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. The Geadling fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Eltham were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
