The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jonathan Chong kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Alif Devan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Steven Lum tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Khairil Hui sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lee Gopala Pillai in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hidayat Shiong prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Abbay Wood United's goalkeeper Hidayat Shiong, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Shah Ning received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Hidayat Shiong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 29 played minutes Abbay Wood United got a freekick which was hit by Khairil Hui. After a defensive mix-up in Geadling's zone, Alif Devan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Steven Lum came out of the goal and Alif Devan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Khairil Hui in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Steven Lum saved Geadling from getting behind. Hidayat Shiong stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Shah Ning's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. Khairil Hui received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Steven Lum tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Khairul Choo hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Steven Lum showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Khairil Hui, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Lee Gopala Pillai managed to get in a good position for a shot. Geadling's supporters rose to their feet, but Lee Gopala Pillai was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hidayat Shiong breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 56 minutes into the match, Alif Devan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Steven Lum. Geadling's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alif Devan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Farhan Chew kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. 64 minutes into the match, Abbay Wood United's Shahron Choy broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 73 minutes into the match, Abbay Wood United's goalkeeper Hidayat Shiong had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lee Gopala Pillai. Shah Ning received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Hidayat Shiong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Khairil Hui had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hidayat Shiong was out of position in the 83 minute of play, and Shah Ning capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Shah Ning really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. In the 91st minute, Shah Ning ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hidayat Shiong was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2.
