Seating: 1990, VIP seats: 180) Eltham's Noh Ning started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Spang FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sean Sim in the 5th minute. Jonathan Tian showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexander Sim, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. In the 16th minute Noh Ning shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arif Lim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Noh Ning in the 17th minute of play forced Spang FC's goalkeeper Arif Lim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alexander Sim might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Tian. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alexander Sim ran back to his position shaking his head. 23 minutes into the match, Spang FC's goal looked a bit too open when Noh Ning came free, but Arif Lim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arif Lim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Noh Ning, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 25th minute Noh Ning shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arif Lim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Zafran Low came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Spang FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zafran Low couldn't finish the play. 31 minutes into the match, Spang FC's goal looked a bit too open when Shafiq Hsi came free, but Arif Lim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Eltham's Jonathan Tian got control of the ball when Alexander Sim tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jonathan Tian made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Danish Choy sent off a good shot on target. In the 35th minute Noh Ning shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arif Lim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arif Lim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Noh Ning in the 38th minute of the match. Arif Lim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Noh Ning, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alexander Sim's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 42ndth minute, Jonathan Tian skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 43 minutes into the match, Eltham's goal looked a bit too open when Alexander Sim came free, but Jonathan Tian reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Spang FC's Mark Ee got a free kick in the 45th minute. Arif Lim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Noh Ning in the 47th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alexander Sim made a kick off. Spang FC's Arif Lim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Noh Ning in the 51st minute of play. After some careless play in the Eltham defense, Alexander Sim kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Tian. The Eltham fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Tian should have stopped the shot. 57 minutes into the game, Zafran Low was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Spang FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Eltham the free kick. After a rather tough play, Spang FC's Zafran Low got a free kick in the 57th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Noh Ning in the 66th minute of play forced Spang FC's goalkeeper Arif Lim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Clive Lee during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 68th minute, Clive Lee hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 68 minutes into the game, Alexander Sim cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Jonathan Tian was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 72 minutes into the game, Eltham's Shafiq Hsi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arif Lim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. 75 minutes into the game, Noh Ning lined in a short shot 2-2 behind a frustrated Arif Lim. 78 minutes into the match, Eltham's goal looked a bit too open when Danish Choy came free, but Jonathan Tian reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sean Sim kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. 81 minutes into the match, Eltham's Anil Au sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arif Lim narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 83 minutes into the game, Noh Ning cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Arif Lim was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Arif Lim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Noh Ning, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. After 90 minutes of play, Eltham's Shafiq Hsi made it 2-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arif Lim was left in no man's land by his defense there! Mark Ee recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jonathan Tian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexander Sim in the 97th minute of play. Eltham were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Spang FC's much stronger midfield.
