In the 3rd minute, Ellis Leonora had to leave the field with a concussion. Orville Ongpin's late challenge caught a Farnworth's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Orville Ongpin helped the player get up and apologised. 9 minutes into the match, Kiribati AFC's Abbasäli Amanov sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ramil Coopera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 11th minute there was a penalty for Farnworth. Salbatore Naguiat stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving 马骋国. 0-1. Farnworth's Will Quengua got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 18 played minutes, Farnworth's Daniel Congson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper 马骋国 came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Farnworth reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cleveland Pogoy in the 27th minute of play forced Kiribati AFC's goalkeeper 马骋国 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Andrew Daranciang fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kiribati AFC's protests and gave Andrew Daranciang a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Kiribati AFC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Andrew Daranciang hit a great ball. Vernon Baniqued struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Ramil Coopera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kiribati AFC. In the 37th minute Cleveland Pogoy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 马骋国 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Farnworth's Ramil Coopera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Farnworth from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emelio Panaguinto in the 41st minute of play forced Kiribati AFC's goalkeeper 马骋国 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 马骋国 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cleveland Pogoy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abbasäli Amanov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Ramil Coopera made a huge save. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abbasäli Amanov to make the kick off. After 51 played minutes Kiribati AFC got a freekick which was hit by Vernon Baniqued. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cleveland Pogoy in the 53rd minute of play forced Kiribati AFC's goalkeeper 马骋国 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cleveland Pogoy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. 马骋国 tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Cleveland Pogoy came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Farnworth fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cleveland Pogoy couldn't finish the play. 马骋国 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cleveland Pogoy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Cleveland Pogoy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 67 minutes, Abbasäli Amanov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kiribati AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abbasäli Amanov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Farnworth's Will Quengua got a free kick in the 71st minute. 马骋国 showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cleveland Pogoy in the 73rd minute of the match. 马骋国 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cleveland Pogoy in the 77th minute of play. Cleveland Pogoy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 81 minutes into the match, Kiribati AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Cleveland Pogoy came free, but 马骋国 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Florence Italia struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Ramil Coopera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kiribati AFC. After a defensive mix-up in Farnworth's zone, Rammynnos Tanjangco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ramil Coopera came out of the goal and Rammynnos Tanjangco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 86th minute, Rammynnos Tanjangco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 马骋国 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cleveland Pogoy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Abbasäli Amanov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Farnworth eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
