In the 23rd match minute, Philippine Azkals was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rizalino Jacutin to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Papi Masibay managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manila Bears's supporters rose to their feet, but Papi Masibay was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tonying Mangkay breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Grover Galang scored 1-1 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tonying Mangkay, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Igme Querimit blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tonying Mangkay having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tito Bengco in the 32nd minute of play forced Manila Bears's goalkeeper Ali Vinoray to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Rizalino Jacutin was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 41 minutes had been played. The supporters of Manila Bears booed when Philippine Azkals was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rizalino Jacutin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gualterio Queppet charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gualterio Queppet the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Manila Bears's Gualterio Queppet got a free kick in the 43rd minute. The supporters of Manila Bears booed when Philippine Azkals was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Glenn Valenzuela didn't get a good kick on the ball. 47 minutes into the match, Philippine Azkals's goal looked a bit too open when Papi Masibay came free, but Tonying Mangkay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

After a defensive mix-up in Philippine Azkals's zone, Igme Querimit stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tonying Mangkay came out of the goal and Igme Querimit tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Igme Querimit came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Manila Bears fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Igme Querimit couldn't finish the play. Grover Galang struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Tonying Mangkay didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manila Bears. Elijah Tongol kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Manila Bears's Igme Querimit got a free kick in the 64th minute. In the 66th minute, Igme Querimit got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alex Llaban struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Tonying Mangkay didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manila Bears. Papi Masibay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Tonying Mangkay tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, Papi Masibay dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tonying Mangkay, 1-2. Tonying Mangkay stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Papi Masibay's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 81st minute of the game. One of Manila Bears:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Philippine Azkals:s goal. Manila Bears:s Ali Vinoray showed great skill when he stopped Herbert Karingal:s penalty. Papi Masibay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 91 minutes, Grover Galang managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manila Bears's supporters crossed their fingers, but Grover Galang was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Papi Masibay in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tonying Mangkay saved Philippine Azkals from getting behind. Igme Querimit got his second yellow card in the match during the 97th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, Manila Bears's Igme Querimit got a free kick in the 98th minute. Philippine Azkals succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Manila Bears had controlled the match.
