After a defensive mix-up in Derby's zone, Ora Gustilo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Noli Cacalda came out of the goal and Ora Gustilo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kirk Quimson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gregoria Jocson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kaberks Malabuyo in the 37th minute of the match. If Kirk Quimson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ora Gustilo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Noli Cacalda read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

51 minutes into the match, Sarimanok FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kaberks Malabuyo came free, but Gregoria Jocson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, Derby's Gregoria Jocson threw himself towards the right post 54 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Kaberks Malabuyo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. A collision led to Sarimanok FC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Hugh Ayson hit a great ball. Derby's Noli Cacalda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ora Gustilo in the 61st minute of play. When Ora Gustilo came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Sarimanok FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ora Gustilo couldn't finish the play. If Bern Bayquin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th minute, Kaberks Malabuyo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gregoria Jocson. The goal made the score 0-1. Ora Gustilo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Noli Cacalda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Noli Cacalda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugh Ayson, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. After having played for 93 minutes, Kirk Quimson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Derby's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kirk Quimson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Derby's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
