When the match clock showed 16 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Kaberks Malabuyo sped through Malmesbury City's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rogelio Mabaquiao. Jake Tolentino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Kirk Quimson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rogelio Mabaquiao was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kaberks Malabuyo made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Derby's zone, Aga Tecson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Noli Cacalda came out of the goal and Aga Tecson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If George Querimit had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Malmesbury City had won after a very even match.
