The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nimrod Dulay took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Singian, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Phase V FC's Noli Bandigas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Phase V FC from getting a goal against them. Lance Bagadiong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Noli Bandigas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 9th minute of the match, Lance Bagadiong got a very nice opportunity to score, but Noli Bandigas was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 10 minutes, Philipo Luzon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Phase V FC and the Pilak FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Lance Bagadiong could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Noli Bandigas made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stanley Arong in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Noli Bandigas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Archie Dorilag sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pilak FC's Nimrod Dulay played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Archie Dorilag in the 17th minute of play. Yao Duyan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Noli Bandigas having to interfere. Lance Bagadiong might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Noli Bandigas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lance Bagadiong ran back to his position shaking his head. Pilak FC's Nimrod Dulay played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Archie Dorilag in the 26th minute of play. Alex Singian charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alex Singian the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 29 played minutes Phase V FC got a freekick which was hit by Alex Singian. After a rather tough play, Pilak FC's Pitoy Taboyayong got a free kick in the 30th minute. Lance Bagadiong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Noli Bandigas having to interfere. With a little luck, Phase V FC's Noli Bandigas got control of the ball when Lance Bagadiong tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Pilak FC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Leroy Gaane hit a great ball. The supporters of Phase V FC booed when Pilak FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodel Taasan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nimrod Dulay took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Archie Dorilag, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alex Singian stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Pilak FC's Nimrod Dulay got control of the ball when Alex Singian tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pilak FC's Nimrod Dulay played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Singian in the 58th minute of play. Archie Dorilag could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Nimrod Dulay made a huge save. Archie Dorilag's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 78thth minute, Nimrod Dulay skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 79th minute, Phase V FC's Alex Singian dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-1. Lance Bagadiong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Noli Bandigas having to interfere. Archie Dorilag struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Nimrod Dulay didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Phase V FC. Phase V FC's Stanley Henson got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Phase V FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
