After 5 played minutes Valenzuela Cargo got a freekick which was hit by Andrew Quiambaw. After a rather tough play, Valenzuela Cargo's Yao Sipin got a free kick in the 7th minute. Romnick Tengco struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Adam Laganson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for General Santos City AFC. In the 12th minute, Stanley Macapugay made a precise shot to the right of Adam Laganson. Valenzuela Cargo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Valenzuela Cargo's Adam Laganson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stanley Macapugay in the 15th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Romnick Tengco in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adam Laganson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Adam Laganson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stanley Macapugay in the 20th minute of play. Yao Sipin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Luzon Allado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 24th minute, Yao Sipin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adam Laganson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kapayas Benitez in the 27th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 32 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Romnick Tengco sped through Valenzuela Cargo's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Adam Laganson. Stanley Macapugay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 38 played minutes Valenzuela Cargo got a freekick which was hit by Yao Sipin. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Stanley Macapugay managed to get in a good position for a shot. General Santos City AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Stanley Macapugay was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adam Laganson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 44 minutes, Romnick Tengco put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Adam Laganson. After the first half General Santos City AFC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Charlie Tanjangco made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Yao Sipin made a precise shot to the right of Luzon Allado. General Santos City AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. In a very dangerous position, a player in Valenzuela Cargo fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 56th minute. Penalty! The referee gave General Santos City AFC a penalty, 59 minutes into the game. Valenzuela Cargo's players were relieved. 85 minutes into the match, General Santos City AFC's Romnick Tengco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adam Laganson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Stanley Macapugay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adam Laganson having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stanley Macapugay in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adam Laganson saved Valenzuela Cargo from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Valenzuela Cargo's Yao Sipin got a free kick in the 98th minute. The Valenzuela Cargo fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. General Santos City AFC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
