With a little luck, General Santos City AFC's Luzon Allado got control of the ball when Henriqua Tucay tried to sneak it across the goal line. General Santos City AFC's Luzon Allado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save General Santos City AFC from getting a goal against them. Kyoto Sanga F.C. were awarded a corner in the 12th minute after General Santos City AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Victorino Balondo took the corner. After taking down the ball on Kyoto Sanga F.C.'s corner Victorino Balondo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Luzon Allado quite easily take care of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Romnick Tengco managed to get in a good position for a shot. General Santos City AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Romnick Tengco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bayan Bonzon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 18th minute, Wilbur Joson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 19th minute Stanley Macapugay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bayan Bonzon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. General Santos City AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kyoto Sanga F.C. the free kick. After 25 played minutes General Santos City AFC got a freekick which was hit by Tol Domekyas. Clarence Pumaren kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Bayan Bonzon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kapayas Benitez in the 32nd minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Stanley Macapugay ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bayan Bonzon was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Luzon Allado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Archie Balabagan, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. 42 minutes into the match, General Santos City AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Clarence Pumaren came free, but Luzon Allado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Inocencio Omaga put his foot forward to block General Santos City AFC from scoring but unfortunatly he hit the ball so badly that it rolled just inside the left pole, an annoying self made goal. 2-1 in the 44th matchminute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Clarence Pumaren stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Luzon Allado came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by Kyoto Sanga F.C.'s Nicholas Macasa. But to his dismay, Nicholas Macasa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. In the 53rd minute Clarence Pumaren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luzon Allado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 55th minute Kyoto Sanga F.C. were awarded a corner. Victorino Balondo went to the cornerflag to take it. Victorino Balondo made a great header on Kyoto Sanga F.C.'s corner, it was just that General Santos City AFC's Luzon Allado managed to reach the ball for a save. Luzon Allado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicholas Macasa in the 59th minute of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 66 minutes into the game, when Jay Quiocson put in a rough tackle. In the 65th minute, one of General Santos City AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for General Santos City AFC. Luzon Allado had in the 67thth minute some difficulties stopping Victorino Balondo's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 69 minutes into the game, Romnick Tengco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. General Santos City AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kyoto Sanga F.C. the free kick. In the 69th match minute, General Santos City AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romnick Tengco to maneuver through the defense. General Santos City AFC's Luzon Allado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Archie Balabagan in the 71st minute of play. 73 minutes into the match, General Santos City AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Clarence Pumaren came free, but Luzon Allado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75th minute Nicholas Macasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luzon Allado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 76 minutes into the game, Jay Lorenzo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clarence Pumaren in the 81st minute of play forced General Santos City AFC's goalkeeper Luzon Allado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 84 minutes into the match, General Santos City AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Nicholas Macasa came free, but Luzon Allado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. General Santos City AFC's Luzon Allado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicholas Macasa in the 91st minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Kyoto Sanga F.C. had won after a very even match.
