The supporters of Laben booed when PSS Tjitoedja was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fery Suprianto didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Lelo Idris came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Laben fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lelo Idris couldn't finish the play. In the 13th minute Micky Bangun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kompos Febrian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andre Haryanto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Robbie Darwis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Micky Bangun struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Kompos Febrian didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Laben. But to his dismay, Lelo Idris quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Martin Sugendo charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Martin Sugendo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Laben getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Micky Bangun to make the kick off. In the 55th minute Micky Bangun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kompos Febrian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 59 minutes of play, Laben's Daus Bangun made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kompos Febrian was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, PSS Tjitoedja's Daus Hans got a free kick in the 66th minute. Micky Bangun's late challenge caught a PSS Tjitoedja's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Micky Bangun helped the player get up and apologised. Micky Bangun kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Kompos Febrian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lelo Idris in the 78th minute of play. Kompos Febrian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Micky Bangun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Micky Bangun in the 81st minute of play forced PSS Tjitoedja's goalkeeper Kompos Febrian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rd match minute, Laben was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Micky Bangun to maneuver through the defense. Ichwan Waluyo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robbie Darwis having to interfere. Martin Sugendo was shown his second yellow card after 87 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 87 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Laben! Laben's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
