Laben's attentive Ari Kaban managed to snatch the ball when Steve Oktavianus made a throw-in in the 14th minute of the game. A collision led to Malaysia FC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Mario Haryanto hit a great ball. 16 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Laben's Micky Bangun fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Micky Bangun received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Zulfikar Ginting tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Laben's Micky Bangun got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lelo Idris might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zulfikar Ginting. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lelo Idris ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 30 minutes, Micky Bangun managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Laben's supporters crossed their fingers, but Micky Bangun was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 35th minute, Micky Bangun fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Zulfikar Ginting, passed just outside the right post. Robbie Darwis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mario Haryanto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 39 minutes into the game, Malaysia FC's Mario Haryanto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Robbie Darwis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andra Karo-karo in the 45th minute of play forced Laben's goalkeeper Robbie Darwis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Micky Bangun was extremely unlucky when he, in the 46th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out.

After some careless play in the Malaysia FC defense, Micky Bangun kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zulfikar Ginting. The Malaysia FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zulfikar Ginting should have stopped the shot. 61 minutes into the game, Micky Bangun cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Zulfikar Ginting was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Lelo Idris had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zulfikar Ginting showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Micky Bangun, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. In the 72nd minute of the match Hastomo Akmal shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Robbie Darwis showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Ari Kaban's late challenge caught a Malaysia FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ari Kaban helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Laben's Ari Kaban got a free kick in the 78th minute. After 79 played minutes, Malaysia FC's Eboy Tarigan shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Robbie Darwis came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Malaysia FC reached it. Zulfikar Ginting made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Micky Bangun in the 81st minute of play. In the 85thth minute of the game Micky Bangun who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Malaysia FC's Zulfikar Ginting was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Laben's Robbie Darwis got control of the ball when Mario Haryanto tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Micky Bangun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 91 minutes into the match, Malaysia FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lelo Idris came free, but Zulfikar Ginting reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zulfikar Ginting came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Laben's Micky Bangun. But to his dismay, Micky Bangun quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. When the referee ended the match the Laben players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
