With an all-out effort, Selangor FC's Jonas Salk threw himself towards the right post 13 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Firdaus Arbi, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When the match clock showed 15 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Djati Simamora sped through Selangor FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Andi Simamora. Djati Simamora succeeded in the game's 24th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-3. Andi Simamora took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Faisal Halim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30th minute, Hastomo Pane got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Martin Suprianto kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. 34 minutes into the match, Penang Island's Banan Banana sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Andi Simamora narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Andi Simamora made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Faisal Halim in the 35th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Penang Island's Fadhly Perangin-angin got a free kick in the 37th minute. Djati Simamora received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Andi Simamora tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Djati Ramadhonna charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Djati Ramadhonna the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Djati Ramadhonna kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Penang Island's Andra Barus got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 57th minute, Penang Island's Faisal Halim ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Andi Simamora. Andi Simamora yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. A collision led to Penang Island getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Banan Banana hit a great ball. Andi Simamora came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Penang Island's Faisal Halim. But to his dismay, Faisal Halim quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. Djati Simamora blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Andi Simamora having to make a save. Faisal Halim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 79 played minutes Selangor FC got a freekick which was hit by Alejandro Adrio. In the 80th minute, Joko Febrian got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Faisal Halim managed to get in a good position for a shot. Penang Island's supporters rose to their feet, but Faisal Halim was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andi Simamora breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Faisal Halim struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Andi Simamora didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Penang Island. After a defensive mix-up in Selangor FC's zone, Djati Simamora stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andi Simamora came out of the goal and Djati Simamora tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 91st minute, Faisal Halim reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Andi Simamora. The goal made the score 0-7. Firdaus Arbi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over Penang Island could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Selangor FC throughout the match.
