After some careless play in the Schalke 04 defense, 陶辉源 kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of 朱德升. The Schalke 04 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that 朱德升 should have stopped the shot. A sloppy throw-in by 毛响兴 in the 16th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Schalke 04's 崔霖剑. 鲁战适 showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 邓俊青 in the 17th minute of the match. Schalke 04's 朱德升 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 郭夕军 in the 18th minute of play. 河北唐山雪狼联's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by 郭夕军 in the 19th minute. In the 22nd minute, 蒋桦荣 hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 朱德升 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 陶辉源 in the 23rd minute of play. In the 25th minute 邓俊青 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 鲁战适 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 鲁战适 showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 邓俊青 in the 28th minute of the match. 鲁战适 showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 杜国荣, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Schalke 04's attentive 蒋桦荣 managed to snatch the ball when 毛响兴 made a throw-in in the 31st minute of the game. If 杜国荣 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Schalke 04's zone, 陶辉源 stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. 朱德升 came out of the goal and 陶辉源 tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 朱德升 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 赵天昂, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When 邓俊青 came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Schalke 04 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that 邓俊青 couldn't finish the play. Schalke 04's 邓俊青 managed to work through 河北唐山雪狼联's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. 邓俊青 dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. The crowd rose to their feet as 陶辉源 kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving 朱德升. That made the score 3-2 in the 44 minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-2 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when 邓俊青 stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Schalke 04's 邓俊青 nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. 鲁战适 made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, 郭夕军 managed to get in a good position for a shot. 河北唐山雪狼联's supporters rose to their feet, but 郭夕军 was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. 朱德升 breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. If 邓俊青 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 郭夕军 might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over 朱德升. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. 郭夕军 ran back to his position shaking his head. When 温锋风 came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Schalke 04 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that 温锋风 couldn't finish the play. Schalke 04's 蒋桦荣 quite brazenly broke a throw-in by 毛响兴, made in the 75th minute of the game. In the 78th minute Schalke 04 were awarded a corner. 邓俊青 went to the cornerflag to take it. 邓俊青 fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without 鲁战适 having to interfere. 朱德升 didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from 陶辉源 went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-3 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by 邓俊青 in the 89th minute of play forced 河北唐山雪狼联's goalkeeper 鲁战适 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 邓俊青 took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised 鲁战适. 鲁战适 dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-4.
