The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Birkenhead's 박 은 got control of the ball when 박 평 tried to sneak it across the goal line. 박 은 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 유 편, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 김 도 didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from 박 송 went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 김 도 showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 김 창 in the 21st minute of the match. 김 창 fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without 김 도 having to interfere. The supporters of Birkenhead booed when Braintree was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. 이 운 didn't get a good kick on the ball. 김 도 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 박 송 in the 25th minute of play. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. 박 송 was the one to do the kick off. 김 도 made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when 박 송 sent off a good shot on target. 박 은 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 박 화 in the 53rd minute of play. After having played for 54 minutes, 박 평 managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Braintree's supporters crossed their fingers, but 박 평 was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 박 화's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but 박 은 read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by 박 화 in the 57th minute of play forced Birkenhead's goalkeeper 박 은 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 박 화 sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 63 played minutes Birkenhead got a freekick which was hit by 이 영. 김 경 sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 박 화 blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without 박 은 having to make a save. 김 연 kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. The long shot by 김 엄 in the 83rd minute really tested 김 도's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Braintree's 박 화 got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 김 창 recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
