An unexpectedly hard shot by 정 점 in the 2nd minute of play forced EssenFC's goalkeeper 박 계 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 김 진 received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. 김 연 tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 김 왕 charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed 김 왕 the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Daejeon United's 김 왕 got a free kick in the 12th minute. Bonggo Munggaran hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. 김 연 showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 김 홍 in the 18th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the match, Daejeon United's goal looked a bit too open when 김 홍 came free, but 김 연 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Daejeon United's 김 연 got control of the ball when 유 곽 tried to sneak it across the goal line. 김 왕 hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. 28 minutes into the match, Daejeon United's goalkeeper 김 연 had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by 김 설. 31 minutes into the game, Kim Wexler was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. EssenFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Daejeon United the free kick. In the 34th minute of the match, 김 홍 tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but 김 연 saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 36 played minutes EssenFC got a freekick which was hit by 김 홍. The crowd rose to their feet as 김 진 kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving 김 연. That made the score 1-0 in the 39 minute of play. In the 46th match minute, Daejeon United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by 김 변 to maneuver through the defense. When 김 하늘 came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the EssenFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that 김 하늘 couldn't finish the play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when 정 점 made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, 유 곽 got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 김 채's shot from long distance in the 54th minute was not bad at all, but EssenFC's 박 계 knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. 정 점 fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without 박 계 having to interfere. 유 곽 scored 2-0 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of 김 연, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Daejeon United's 김 연 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 유 곽 in the 68th minute of play. 김 연 showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 유 곽, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. In the 76th minute, 김 진 left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The EssenFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. When 김 추 fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Daejeon United's protests and gave 김 추 a yellow card for diving instead. 김 연 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 유 곽, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 박 계 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 박 명 in the 88th minute of play. In the 96th minute 유 곽 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 김 연 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
