Arty Lonergan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Darin Lyle having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Aldinga's zone, Raymond Ramsay stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Russ Leach came out of the goal and Raymond Ramsay tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jeffers Benton hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 25th minute Raymond Ramsay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Russ Leach saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Darin Lyle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Clay Pfingst in the 57th minute of the match. Mustard Tigers's Darin Lyle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clay Pfingst in the 58th minute of play. Darin Lyle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeffers Benton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rudy Coote did an outstanding performance 74 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 4-0 to the right of an irritated Darin Lyle in the goal. After a rather tough play, Aldinga's Arty Lonergan got a free kick in the 81st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeffers Benton in the 85th minute of play forced Mustard Tigers's goalkeeper Darin Lyle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Darin Lyle came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Aldinga's Berke Telfer. But to his dismay, Berke Telfer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. Darin Minter's late challenge caught a Mustard Tigers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Darin Minter helped the player get up and apologised. In the 90th match minute, Aldinga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Darin Minter to maneuver through the defense. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Aldinga had played much better football throughout.
