The supporters of Byanbunnoo booed when Tawonga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaffery Angell didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37th minute Brannan Benson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Loud Awage saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bartholemew Finden's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Loud Awage read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Brannan Benson made the kick off in the second half. 57 minutes into the match, Byanbunnoo's goal looked a bit too open when Art Copelin came free, but Justin Woods reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 80th minute, Bradshaw Lander hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 85 minutes into the match, Tawonga's goalkeeper Loud Awage had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bartholemew Finden. After 88 played minutes Tawonga got a freekick which was hit by Alexander Notley. After a rather tough play, Byanbunnoo's Andre Tevelien got a free kick in the 90th minute.
