The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Russell Wal came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Perthians fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Russell Wal couldn't finish the play. In the 16th minute of the game Eliot Hess made a throw-in which Corey Anders played forward. Korneliusz Sroki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alvin Laing in the 17th minute of play. Russell Wal didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 1-0 via right post in the game's 18th minute. Perthians's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! If Russell Wal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Russell Wal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rick Paynter read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. In the 29th minute, Armindo Sá hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 31st minute of the match Arne Jackson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Korneliusz Sroki showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 34 minutes into the match, Wallaroo's goalkeeper Rick Paynter had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Russell Wal. In the 36th minute, Dalwood Vickery got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Wallaroo's Rick Paynter got control of the ball when Russell Wal tried to sneak it across the goal line. Corey Anders received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Korneliusz Sroki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dalwood Vickery charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dalwood Vickery the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Corey Anders in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Korneliusz Sroki prevented the ball from getting in the gole. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Alvin Laing could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Korneliusz Sroki made a huge save. Armindo Sá sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dalwood Vickery sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Russell Wal might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rick Paynter. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Russell Wal ran back to his position shaking his head. Wallaroo's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. Neal Harding charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Neal Harding the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Perthians's Neal Harding got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Wallaroo's Corey Anders got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ren Nelson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Rick Paynter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 84 minutes into the match, Perthians's Russell Wal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rick Paynter narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ren Edwards struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Rick Paynter didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Perthians. In the 88th minute Russell Wal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rick Paynter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Perthians's Billy Parryman got a free kick in the 91st minute. In the 95th minute, Corey Anders reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Korneliusz Sroki. The goal made the score 1-1. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
