Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) 4 minutes into the match, Heidelberg's goalkeeper Jess Annis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rudy Oneill. Rudy Oneill took the ball and in the 7 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jess Annis. Jess Annis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After 14 played minutes Excelsior FC got a freekick which was hit by Cole Hoskin. Rudy Oneills short, quick shot in the 18thth minute got Jess Annis to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 19 minutes into the game, Grant Heberle cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Jess Annis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ollie Finden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ollie Finden received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Jess Annis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 36 minutes into the match, Excelsior FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dalton Magnay came free, but Reginald Mills reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Excelsior FC defense, Baxter Christian kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Reginald Mills. The Excelsior FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Reginald Mills should have stopped the shot. After 43 minutes of play, Excelsior FC's Rudy Oneill made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jess Annis was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 46 played minutes Excelsior FC got a freekick which was hit by Ernest Eastman. Brandes Ward was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 47th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Baxter Christian to make the kick off. Jess Annis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Max Pearce went, in the 51st minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. Grant Heberle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Jess Annis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Heidelberg getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Dalton Magnay hit a great ball. Jess Annis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rudy Oneill, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Max Pearce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 71 minutes into the game, Ernest Eastman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Excelsior FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Heidelberg the free kick. 72 minutes into the match, Excelsior FC's goal looked a bit too open when Baxter Christian came free, but Reginald Mills reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 73 played minutes Excelsior FC got a freekick which was hit by Andy Crawford. Reginald Mills showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baxter Christian, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Burtt Behla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reginald Mills having to interfere. Reginald Mills made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Burtt Behla sent off a good shot on target. Reginald Mills was a little too slow when Burtt Behla got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 94th minute. The score was now 4-2. When the referee ended the match the Excelsior FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
