But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Munroe Oneill couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Cowaramup getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Angelo Russell hit a great ball. Tobie Claringbolds short, quick shot in the 29thth minute got Clay Haydock to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Clay Haydock showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isaac Reichelt in the 36th minute of the match. A collision led to Cowaramup getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Anthony Claringbold hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tobie Claringbold got free with Clay Haydock in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Brand Stafford showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bradshaw Warhurst in the 46th minute of the match. After the first half Cowaramup were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Isaac Reichelt stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bradshaw Warhurst sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 60th minute, Munroe Oneill got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Munroe Oneill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Isaac Reichelt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Clay Haydock tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anthony Claringbold hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Cowaramup's Clay Haydock played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isaac Reichelt in the 76th minute of play. 79 minutes into the match, Cowaramup's goal looked a bit too open when Isaac Reichelt came free, but Clay Haydock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cowaramup's Munroe Oneill managed to work through Sydney FC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Munroe Oneill dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Munroe Oneill fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brand Stafford having to interfere.
