But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Earnest Goucher couldn't finish the play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Al Wirth made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nelson Clist during the 57th minute. Dartmouth FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Al Wirth was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Caddick breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kevin Clinton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Jonathan Caddick tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Mannibadar's Darryl Butterfield got a free kick in the 79th minute. Tommy Muncaster scored 2-2 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Caddick, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match clock showed 84 minutes, the score became 3-2 when Al Wirth sped through Mannibadar's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Caddick. Tommy Muncaster charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tommy Muncaster the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Dartmouth FC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play.
