Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Berny Burtt took the kick off in the first half of the match. Berny Burtt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duncan Heathwood having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Carapooee's zone, Albert Dobbing stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Duncan Heathwood came out of the goal and Albert Dobbing tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Duncan Heathwood made an important save on a dangerous shot by Albert Dobbing in the 8th minute. After having played for 10 minutes, Albert Dobbing managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Coolongolook's supporters crossed their fingers, but Albert Dobbing was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Albert Dobbing struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Duncan Heathwood didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Coolongolook. Remy Laycock kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. In the 16th minute, Rudy Isaac got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Barnard Pinal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jared Porter having to interfere. Duncan Heathwood made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Berny Burtt in the 26th minute of play. Roy Calver's late challenge caught a Carapooee's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roy Calver helped the player get up and apologised. Barnard Pinal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 34 minutes into the game, Benney Colman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Coolongolook's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carapooee the free kick. A collision led to Coolongolook getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Benney Colman hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Coolongolook's Albert Dobbing got a free kick in the 41st minute. Albert Dobbings short, quick shot in the 46thth minute got Duncan Heathwood to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Barnard Pinal to strike the kick off in the second half. Carapooee's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Darian Hardiman in the 53rd minute. Loyd Conlin was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Damian Slattery charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Damian Slattery the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Damian Slattery kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Berny Burtt in the 70th minute of play forced Carapooee's goalkeeper Duncan Heathwood to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th minute, Albert Dobbing got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 77th minute, Albert Dobbing left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Coolongolook fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Duncan Heathwood made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Berny Burtt in the 81st minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, Carapooee's goal looked a bit too open when Berny Burtt came free, but Duncan Heathwood reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Albert Dobbing in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Duncan Heathwood saved Carapooee from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Donovan Hardiman during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 88th minute of the game. One of Carapooee:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Coolongolook:s goal. When Coolongolook's Berny Burtt in the 94th minute got a chance for a shot 94th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Carapooee's goalie prevented a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Albert Dobbing managed to get in a good position for a shot. Coolongolook's supporters rose to their feet, but Albert Dobbing was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Duncan Heathwood breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Carapooee's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
