Roy Coburn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Byrne Carberry having to interfere. Byrne Carberry showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edwardo Willison in the 8th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Long Schonke in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Stan Shirdon saved Netherwood from getting behind. Logan Beattie's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 14thth minute, Stan Shirdon skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bath Lawson during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Netherwood getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Edwardo Willison hit a great ball. Brett Carnduff charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Brett Carnduff the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 20 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Netherwood! In the 28th minute, Boorolong's Logan Beattie ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Stan Shirdon. Stan Shirdon yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. 38 minutes into the match, Boorolong's goal looked a bit too open when Carmichael Buckland came free, but Byrne Carberry reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Rick Mccormick made the kick off in the second half. Stan Shirdon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Logan Beattie in the 52nd minute of the match. The supporters of Netherwood booed when Boorolong was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marshal Adair didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Boorolong's Long Schonke in the 58th minute got a chance for a shot 58th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 65th match minute, Boorolong was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ed Christian to maneuver through the defense. In the 68th minute Logan Beattie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stan Shirdon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Boorolong's Logan Beattie got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Stan Shirdon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Logan Beattie in the 76th minute of play. The supporters of Boorolong booed when Netherwood was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carmichael Buckland didn't get a good kick on the ball. Logan Beattie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Stan Shirdon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 85 played minutes Edwardo Willison rounded Boorolong's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-1. Logan Beattie charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Logan Beattie the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Boorolong's Logan Beattie got a free kick in the 90th minute. If Edwardo Willison had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 93 played minutes Boorolong got a freekick which was hit by Randall Cusbert. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Boorolong fans cheered their team off the field, for while Netherwood had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
