Darell Leydin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Burns Rishton, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. The supporters of Winter LA booed when Manjimup was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jarrett Blagburn didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 26 minutes of play, Winter LA's Burns Rishton made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Darell Leydin was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 30th minute, Burns Rishton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Burns Rishton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34th minute, Burns Rishton made a precise shot to the right of Darell Leydin. Manjimup's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Jarrett Blagburn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manjimup's supporters rose to their feet, but Jarrett Blagburn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Barnard Minton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Jeffray Askew fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Winter LA's protests and gave Jeffray Askew a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Winter LA's Jeffray Askew got a free kick in the 39th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jarrett Blagburn in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Barnard Minton saved Winter LA from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jarrett Blagburn in the 42nd minute of play forced Winter LA's goalkeeper Barnard Minton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adolph Flisfeder hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Adolph Flisfeder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Burns Rishton stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Manjimup defense, Barnabas Rennie kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Darell Leydin. The Manjimup fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Darell Leydin should have stopped the shot. In the 57th minute Jarrett Blagburn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Barnard Minton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Donovan Heath received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Barnard Minton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jarrett Blagburn struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Barnard Minton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manjimup. 73 minutes into the match, Manjimup's goalkeeper Darell Leydin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Barnabas Rennie. In the 74th minute, Preston Colman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jarrett Blagburn scored 1-4 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Barnard Minton, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Barnabas Rennie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Darell Leydin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Albert Meyers hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. In the 97th minute, Roger Fitzsimmons sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Winter LA's Barnard Minton didn't even have to move. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Winter LA walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
