Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) St Kilda FC's Bock See started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Taroona's zone, Raymond Crampton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elliott Tencer came out of the goal and Raymond Crampton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Long Leach fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elliott Tencer having to interfere. Elliott Tencer came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by St Kilda FC's Raymond Crampton. But to his dismay, Raymond Crampton quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Raymond Crampton managed to get in a good position for a shot. St Kilda FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Raymond Crampton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elliott Tencer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 22 played minutes, Taroona's Michael Cassilly shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marshall Hayward came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Taroona reached it. Phenix Czaczkas short, quick shot in the 24thth minute got Marshall Hayward to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 27 minutes of play, St Kilda FC's Raymond Crampton made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Elliott Tencer was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 31st minute, Norman Grigson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Raymond Crampton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, St Kilda FC's Ace Cusbert got a free kick in the 37th minute. Phenix Czaczka sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Berry Magnay to strike the kick off in the second half. Kirk Heberle hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. 57 minutes into the match, St Kilda FC's Bock See sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Elliott Tencer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. St Kilda FC's Marshall Hayward played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Phenix Czaczka in the 59th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Berry Magnay's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marshall Hayward was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. In the 61st match minute, St Kilda FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Norman Grigson to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Raymond Crampton got free with Elliott Tencer in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Berry Magnay in the 70th minute of play forced St Kilda FC's goalkeeper Marshall Hayward to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, St Kilda FC's Ace Cusbert got a free kick in the 71st minute. Marshall Hayward made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Berry Magnay in the 73rd minute of play. Philip Mackney hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. 81 minutes into the match, Taroona's Berry Magnay sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marshall Hayward narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bartholemew Maslin hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Taroona's Michael Cassilly tried to score from far away in the 85th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Marshall Hayward took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Berry Magnay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
