Wattening
Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ren Atterton started the match with the kick off. Bruno Arkinstall stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jake Annis's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. Ernest Schulze fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Arkinstall having to interfere. Jake Annis scored 2-0 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bruno Arkinstall, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ernest Schulze struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Bruno Arkinstall didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wattening. After having played for 23 minutes, Ernest Schulze managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wattening's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernest Schulze was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Pierre Markou managed to get in a good position for a shot. Charlton's supporters rose to their feet, but Pierre Markou was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Art Cawthorne breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Brye Renshaw fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Charlton's protests and gave Brye Renshaw a yellow card for diving instead. After 28 played minutes Charlton got a freekick which was hit by Brye Renshaw. In the 32nd match minute, Charlton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pierre Markou to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Charlton's Bruno Arkinstall got control of the ball when Jake Annis tried to sneak it across the goal line. 35 minutes into the game, Grant Frew was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wattening's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Charlton the free kick. Grant Frew kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. In the 37th minute Pierre Markou shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Art Cawthorne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Art Cawthorne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ren Atterton in the 39th minute of the match. Art Cawthorne showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ren Atterton, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. 46 minutes into the match, Wattening's goal looked a bit too open when Pierre Markou came free, but Art Cawthorne reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 47 minutes into the game, Darley Wittber was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Charlton's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wattening the free kick. In the 47th match minute, Charlton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Darley Wittber to maneuver through the defense.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jake Annis made a kick off. Lewis Paddle kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Art Cawthorne came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Charlton's Edgar Ceney. But to his dismay, Edgar Ceney quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Edgar Ceney in the 63rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Art Cawthorne, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ernest Schulze scored 3-2 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bruno Arkinstall, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 70 minutes into the match, Edgar Ceney notched a goal, 3-3, to the right of Wattening's Art Cawthorne. Art Cawthorne was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Lewis Paddle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Bruno Arkinstall tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Ernest Schulze came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Wattening fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ernest Schulze couldn't finish the play. When Lewis Paddle came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Wattening fans jumped to their feet. Wattening's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Charlton the free kick. After 78 played minutes Wattening got a freekick which was hit by Darren Boots. Darley Wittber made in the 82nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Wattening's Darren Boots. In the 82nd minute, Darren Boots got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lewis Paddle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Bruno Arkinstall tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Lewis Paddle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bruno Arkinstall made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jake Annis in the 89th minute of play. Andre Goodbun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Arkinstall having to interfere. Art Cawthorne came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Charlton's Edgar Ceney. But to his dismay, Edgar Ceney quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-4. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Wattening lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
