Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Brook Beattie made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 4th match minute, Merinda was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brockman Houldsworth to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Brad Serena in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thomas Huther prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 12 minutes into the match, Brad Serena had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thomas Huther. Gooloongolok's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Brad Serena was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. When Gooloongolok's Brook Beattie in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Merinda's goalie prevented a goal. Thomas Huther made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ralph Caddick in the 16th minute of play. In the 17th minute Ralph Caddick shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Huther saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benjamin Pears made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Brendon Groves sent off a good shot on target. In the 20thth minute of the game Ralph Caddick who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gooloongolok's Thomas Huther was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Merinda's Randle Mitchell got a free kick in the 22nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Brook Beattie managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gooloongolok's supporters rose to their feet, but Brook Beattie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benjamin Pears breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Brook Beattie in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benjamin Pears saved Merinda from getting behind. In the 34th minute there was a penalty for Gooloongolok. Dalton Mcmillan stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Benjamin Pears. 2-1. In the 41st minute, Best Wal reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Benjamin Pears. The goal made the score 3-1. In the 44th minute, Brockman Houldsworth hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brendon Groves came free with the goalkeeper in the 47th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Benjamin Pears could save by the left post. Brendon Groves kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 47thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Merinda's keeper Benjamin Pears was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

Brendon Groves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Gooloongolok booed when Merinda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kirk Beins didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 71st minute, Brook Beattie got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Brockman Houldsworth fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Merinda's protests and gave Brockman Houldsworth a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ralph Caddick in the 77th minute of play forced Gooloongolok's goalkeeper Thomas Huther to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brad Serena struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Thomas Huther didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Merinda. Ralph Caddick blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Thomas Huther having to make a save. Benjamin Pears showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brook Beattie, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Brendon Groves blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benjamin Pears having to make a save. Brad Serena could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Thomas Huther made a huge save. Brook Beattie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Benjamin Pears tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 92 minutes into the game, Kirk Beins was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Merinda's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gooloongolok the free kick. A collision led to Merinda getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Kirk Beins hit a great ball. After 94 minutes, Brook Beattie made it 4-1 with a short kick to the right side. Merinda's Benjamin Pears tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Gooloongolok had won after a very even match.
