Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Samuel Laycock made the kick off and thus started the match. 3 minutes into the match, Moondarewa's goal looked a bit too open when Fleming Shipp came free, but Allen Trezise reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Meyer Murphy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 9th minute, Edwardo Barry hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Moondarewa getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Daniel Cochrane hit a great ball. In the 14th minute Samuel Laycock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Darin Veitch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fleming Shipp hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Darin Veitch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bryden Walsh, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. After having played for 21 minutes, Meyer Murphy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palana's supporters crossed their fingers, but Meyer Murphy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 24th minute, Dallas Kayrooz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Samuel Laycock came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Moondarewa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Samuel Laycock couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samuel Laycock in the 28th minute of play forced Palana's goalkeeper Darin Veitch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th minute Bryden Walsh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Darin Veitch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Palana getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Meyer Murphy hit a great ball. Darin Veitch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bryden Walsh in the 41st minute of play. Samuel Laycock sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 44 minutes into the game, Dallas Kayrooz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palana's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Moondarewa the free kick. Dallas Kayrooz hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Palana's zone, Bryden Walsh stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Darin Veitch came out of the goal and Bryden Walsh tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Darin Veitch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samuel Laycock in the 51st minute of play. Max Worsley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 59 minutes into the match, Palana's goalkeeper Darin Veitch had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bryden Walsh. Bryden Walsh recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 67th minute, Meyer Murphy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bryden Walsh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Darin Veitch having to interfere. A hard shot 72 in the game by Daniel Cochrane from a close distance when the talented Darin Veitch managed to make a qualified save. Palana's players were relieved. Max Worsley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Bryden Walsh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Darin Veitch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 83 played minutes Palana got a freekick which was hit by Andy Tresise. If Bryden Walsh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Max Worsley's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Allen Trezise read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. 89 minutes into the game, Moondarewa's Bryden Walsh nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Darin Veitch made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1.
