Clevedon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kevin Watts was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kevin Watts in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Artie Mcgregor saved Garryowen from getting behind. 9 minutes into the match, Kevin Watts notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Garryowen's Artie Mcgregor. Artie Mcgregor was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Dale Hanlen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artie Mcgregor having to interfere. Garryowen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Clevedon the free kick. When Belton Laws fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Clevedon's protests and gave Belton Laws a yellow card for diving instead. In the 41st minute, Belton Laws hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Keefer Leyden in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benson Hunter prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bryce Houldsworth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Garryowen players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Clevedon were winning 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dale Hanlen was the one to do the kick off. Martin Gannan tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Artie Mcgregor. An unnecessary self made goal, 0-3 in the 53rd minute. The supporters of Garryowen booed when Clevedon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Belton Laws didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kevin Watts struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Artie Mcgregor didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Clevedon. After 66 minutes of play Clevedon's Belton Laws was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 66th match minute, Clevedon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Belton Laws to maneuver through the defense. In the 69th match minute, Clevedon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cornelius Keam to maneuver through the defense. Carlos Malacarne kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Kevin Watts scored 0-4 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Artie Mcgregor, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Garryowen's Artie Mcgregor proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Garryowen from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Garryowen's zone, Hank Pegler stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Artie Mcgregor came out of the goal and Hank Pegler tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kevin Watts recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle sounded Clevedon left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Garryowen.
