The supporters of Yoongarilup booed when Harcourt was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clarke Gronow didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 15 minutes, Bradshaw Haydock managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Yoongarilup's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dakota Aylwin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Yoongarilup's goalkeeper Bock Bunworth, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bradshaw Haydock fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brye Coburn having to interfere. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Harcourt's goalkeeper Brye Coburn, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Yoongarilup's Bock Bunworth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundson Stevenson in the 72nd minute of play. Ben Brennan spun around in front of the goal 73 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Harcourt's goal. Brye Coburn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bradshaw Haydock, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alexander Stafford during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Yoongarilup's Alexander Stafford got a free kick in the 80th minute. When Yoongarilup's Bradshaw Haydock in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Harcourt's goalie prevented a goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Harcourt had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
