In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Waroula's goalkeeper Eden Stafford, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Eden Stafford made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ned Kurth in the 12th minute. 14 minutes into the game, Dacosta Burmeister cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Michael Tout was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 22 minutes, Arty Weeks managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Waroula's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arty Weeks was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Ned Kurth managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gunnamatta's supporters rose to their feet, but Ned Kurth was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eden Stafford breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gunnamatta's Michael Tout played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dacosta Burmeister in the 30th minute of play. After 31 minutes, Zack Bowen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gunnamatta and the Waroula players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Gunnamatta getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Zack Bowen hit a great ball. Michael Tout stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Clifford Shipman's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Al Benson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eden Stafford having to interfere. Ned Kurth could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Eden Stafford made a huge save. 41 minutes into the game, Jasmine Phasey was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Waroula's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gunnamatta the free kick. A collision led to Waroula getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Jasmine Phasey hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Ned Kurth managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gunnamatta's supporters rose to their feet, but Ned Kurth was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eden Stafford breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Clifford Shipman was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Clifford Shipman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Waroula's supporters crossed their fingers, but Clifford Shipman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Al Benson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Gunnamatta booed when Waroula was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Danton Cordrey didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 71 played minutes Gunnamatta got a freekick which was hit by Andre Featon. Ned Kurth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eden Stafford having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 84th minute of the game. One of Gunnamatta:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Waroula:s goal. When the match had been going on for 86 minutes, Waroula's Allen Lascelles got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Michael Tout. A collision led to Waroula getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Allen Lascelles hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dacosta Burmeister got free with Michael Tout in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 93 minutes into the match, Waroula's Clifford Shipman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Michael Tout narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 96th minute Al Benson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eden Stafford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
