Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Boyd Flisfeder made the kick off and thus started the match. After a defensive mix-up in Eddington's zone, Eddie Munster stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rolando Tarrant came out of the goal and Eddie Munster tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Russel Sobezak in the 4th minute of play forced Eddington's goalkeeper Rolando Tarrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Boyd Flisfeder came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Eddington fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Boyd Flisfeder couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Eddington booed when Sunderland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Phil Aylwin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 13th minute Boyd Flisfeder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jessop Muddle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sunderland's Jessop Muddle proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Sunderland from getting a goal against them. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sunderland's goalkeeper Jessop Muddle, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 19 minutes into the game, Paul Whitsitt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Eddington's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sunderland the free kick. A collision led to Eddington getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Paul Whitsitt hit a great ball. In the 23rd minute Lucas Lorenz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jessop Muddle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 26 minutes, Jamese Rear mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sunderland and the Eddington players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jamese Rear kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. 33 minutes into the match, Eddington's goal looked a bit too open when Eddie Munster came free, but Rolando Tarrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sunderland's defense didn't have a chance, in the 35th minute, when Boyd Flisfeder scored to the left of an out of position Jessop Muddle, making the score, 2-0. Lucas Lorenz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Jessop Muddle made a huge save. In the 39th minute Boyd Flisfeder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jessop Muddle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lucas Lorenz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jessop Muddle having to interfere.

Jessop Muddle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucas Lorenz in the 55th minute of the match. After 55 played minutes Sunderland got a freekick which was hit by Phil Aylwin. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Boyd Flisfeder during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 60th match minute, Eddington was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Boyd Flisfeder to maneuver through the defense. Eddie Munster's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Tarrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Jessop Muddle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Boyd Flisfeder in the 71st minute of play. After having played for 84 minutes, Boyd Flisfeder managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Eddington's supporters crossed their fingers, but Boyd Flisfeder was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 86 minutes into the match, Sunderland's goal looked a bit too open when Lucas Lorenz came free, but Jessop Muddle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Eddington booed when Sunderland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jamese Rear didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Eddie Munster managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sunderland's supporters rose to their feet, but Eddie Munster was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rolando Tarrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Sunderland defense, Lucas Lorenz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jessop Muddle. The Sunderland fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jessop Muddle should have stopped the shot. Sunderland's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
