The Wantirna fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Preston Twite fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barnabas Boston having to interfere. In the 10th minute, Preston Twite made a precise shot to the right of Barnabas Boston. Wantirna's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Dane Ziliotto charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dane Ziliotto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Wantirna getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Dane Ziliotto hit a great ball. In the 14th minute of the match Bickford Rafferty sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Barnabas Boston skillfully saved the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Wantirna's goal looked a bit too open when Preston Twite came free, but Barnabas Boston reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Wantirna's Best Bleazard got a free kick in the 20th minute. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Wantirna's goalkeeper Barnabas Boston, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 28th minute, Wantirna's Belton Palmington ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Bleyd Cordrey. Bleyd Cordrey yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. The supporters of Fairymead booed when Wantirna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Belton Palmington didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 32 played minutes Fairymead got a freekick which was hit by Barnard Newham. If Darryl Hinwood had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fairymead's Bleyd Cordrey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Belton Palmington in the 36th minute of play. After 37 played minutes Fairymead got a freekick which was hit by Mark Rose. Bleyd Cordrey made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Darryl Hinwood sent off a good shot on target. If Belton Palmington had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

In the 51st minute, Preston Twite got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Fairymead getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Paz Sibbold hit a great ball. 79 minutes into the match, Wantirna's goalkeeper Barnabas Boston had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ryan Bailey. After a rather tough play, Wantirna's Marshall Reilly got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Belton Palmington fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bleyd Cordrey having to interfere. After 89 minutes, Marshall Reilly mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wantirna and the Fairymead players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Best Bleazard fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wantirna's protests and gave Best Bleazard a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Fairymead booed when Wantirna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Best Bleazard didn't get a good kick on the ball. Preston Twite sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Wantirna's Marshall Reilly got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Fairymead's Preston Twite managed to work through Wantirna's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Preston Twite dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
