Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Munroe Missen started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After 3 minutes, Ringo Laws mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bellevue and the Melbourne Football Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 3rd minute, Ringo Laws hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lowrey Mcinnes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Irwin Schutt, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. When Larry Matthes came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Bellevue fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Larry Matthes couldn't finish the play. In the 16th minute Irwin Schutt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lowrey Mcinnes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Irwin Schutt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Lowrey Mcinnes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Brooker Rowden in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lowrey Mcinnes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lowrey Mcinnes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Irwin Schutt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 26 minutes into the match, Melbourne Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Munroe Missen came free, but Arthur Grandison reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Irwin Schutt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Lowrey Mcinnes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Bellevue's Arthur Grandison threw himself towards the right post 33 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Munroe Missen, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a defensive mix-up in Bellevue's zone, Bishop Foley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lowrey Mcinnes came out of the goal and Bishop Foley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lowrey Mcinnes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Irwin Schutt in the 45th minute of play. In the 47th minute, Munroe Missen made a precise shot to the right of Arthur Grandison. Melbourne Football Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Irwin Schutt made a kick off. Bishop Foley hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. The supporters of Bellevue booed when Melbourne Football Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Douglas Ashwin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 55th minute of the match Bevis Boneheyo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arthur Grandison showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Bellevue's Larry Matthes quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Bleyd Twite, made in the 56th minute of the game. A throw-in in the 63rd minute of the game was made by Bleyd Twite with Bishop Foley as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Melbourne Football Club's Bishop Foley got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Michael Dollamore hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Arthur Grandison took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Munroe Missen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lowrey Mcinnes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Irwin Schutt in the 79th minute. If Irwin Schutt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 98 in the game by Irwin Schutt from a close distance when the talented Lowrey Mcinnes managed to make a qualified save. Bellevue's players were relieved. Many of Melbourne Football Club's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Melbourne Football Club may have spent more time on the ball, but Bellevue were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
