Collaroy
Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dalton Delahide started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. The supporters of Collaroy booed when Rockhampton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronald Trevena didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Dagan Schoenke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dalton Delahide received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Cullen Royans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dagan Schoenke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brayden Knaack having to interfere. Collaroy's Brent Staworowski got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dalton Delahide in the 21st minute of play forced Collaroy's goalkeeper Cullen Royans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brent Staworowski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Brayden Knaack tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Rockhampton's Damon Mealmaker got a free kick in the 34th minute. 35 minutes into the match, Collaroy's Hal Brading broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 43 minutes of play, Rockhampton's Nathan Waterland made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cullen Royans was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Nathan Waterland managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rockhampton's supporters rose to their feet, but Nathan Waterland was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cullen Royans breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half Rockhampton were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Brent Staworowski stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Dagan Schoenke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Rockhampton getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Damon Mealmaker hit a great ball. In the 54th minute, Myles Mcmanamny hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Myles Mcmanamny's late challenge caught a Rockhampton's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Myles Mcmanamny helped the player get up and apologised. Dalton Delahide's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cullen Royans read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. In the 65th minute Brent Staworowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brayden Knaack saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, Rockhampton's Bryanne Rheistein broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Rockhampton's Brayden Knaack played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brent Staworowski in the 73rd minute of play. In the 75th minute, Rockhampton's Dalton Delahide dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. 80 minutes into the match, Rockhampton's goal looked a bit too open when Brent Staworowski came free, but Brayden Knaack reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dagan Schoenke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brayden Knaack having to interfere. Brent Staworowski scored 1-3 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Brayden Knaack, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cullen Royans didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nathan Waterland went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brent Staworowski in the 94th minute of play forced Rockhampton's goalkeeper Brayden Knaack to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Nathan Waterland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rockhampton's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
