Tiger Pickhills showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Neale Hogan, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Hoyleton's Tiger Pickhills played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Neale Hogan in the 13th minute of play. A collision led to Hoyleton getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Edmund Loch hit a great ball. Ayen Mansa Union's Downing Andrusiow played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barry Kirkham in the 26th minute of play. If Barry Kirkham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Burns Kerville fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ayen Mansa Union's protests and gave Burns Kerville a yellow card for diving instead. After 30 played minutes Ayen Mansa Union got a freekick which was hit by Burns Kerville. In the 42nd minute Jagger Mcgirr shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiger Pickhills saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ringo Shortis took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 46th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tiger Pickhills. Hoyleton's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The supporters of Ayen Mansa Union booed when Hoyleton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darrell Huntington didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Barry Kirkham made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Lorimer Newton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ayen Mansa Union's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hoyleton the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Neale Hogan in the 54th minute of play forced Hoyleton's goalkeeper Tiger Pickhills to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Neale Hogan was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 58th minute. Ayen Mansa Union's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Tiger Pickhills didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jagger Mcgirr went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Jagger Mcgirr's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Tiger Pickhills firmly grabbed it by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Neale Hogan in the 70th minute of play forced Hoyleton's goalkeeper Tiger Pickhills to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Ayen Mansa Union's Neale Hogan slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tiger Pickhills. That made the score 0-3 after 75 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Neale Hogan in the 78th minute of play forced Hoyleton's goalkeeper Tiger Pickhills to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rd minute of the match, Jagger Mcgirr got a very nice opportunity to score, but Tiger Pickhills was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The audience was convinced that Barry Kirkham's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Downing Andrusiow was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. Ringo Shortis took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 86th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tiger Pickhills. Hoyleton's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Tiger Pickhills was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Ringo Shortis. Downing Andrusiow showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Barry Kirkham in the 96th minute of the match. Rufus Prinsep received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Tiger Pickhills tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
