Bill Hoskin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Downing Andrusiow having to interfere. Matthias Wilson charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Matthias Wilson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to adelaide fc getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Matthias Wilson hit a great ball. In the 10thth minute of the game Neale Hogan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but adelaide fc's Battle Glover was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Downing Andrusiow stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Matthias Wilson's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Thanks to some nice moves Jagger Mcgirr could shoot a difficult shot in the 24th minute, which Battle Glover however easily saved by the left post. After 26 played minutes Ayen Mansa Union got a freekick which was hit by Ringo Shortis. Downing Andrusiow showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matthias Wilson, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. When the match clock showed 31 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Jagger Mcgirr sped through adelaide fc's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Battle Glover. In the 35thth minute of the game Neale Hogan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but adelaide fc's Battle Glover was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Battle Glover made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Neale Hogan in the 38th minute of play. adelaide fc's Alvin Wright got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Downing Andrusiow came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by adelaide fc's Matthias Wilson. But to his dismay, Matthias Wilson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Neale Hogan was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, adelaide fc's goal looked a bit too open when Neale Hogan came free, but Battle Glover reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bill Hoskin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Ayen Mansa Union's zone, Bill Hoskin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Downing Andrusiow came out of the goal and Bill Hoskin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Battle Glover took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Neale Hogan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alvin Wright fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Downing Andrusiow having to interfere. Downing Andrusiow made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bill Hoskin in the 72nd minute. In the 74th minute, Ringo Shortis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 76 minutes in the game Jonty Colling after having made a beautiful turn got a great opportunity to score and fired away a shot that went just to the left past a relieved Downing Andrusiow. A very good opportunity. If Matthias Wilson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 87 minutes into the match, adelaide fc's goal looked a bit too open when Neale Hogan came free, but Battle Glover reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Ayen Mansa Union booed when adelaide fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edwardo Toth didn't get a good kick on the ball. adelaide fc's Battle Glover played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Neale Hogan in the 95th minute of play. The adelaide fc supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing adelaide fc would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
