Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Caffey's Dugald Maciver started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Crawford Tauschke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Fabrizio Hayward tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fabrizio Hayward made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robert Freeman in the 5th minute of play. Biggs Legg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dugald Maciver in the 8th minute of the match. 9 minutes into the match, Caffey's Pete Shirdon sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Biggs Legg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Crawford Tauschke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 15 minutes into the game, Tony Locke was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Caffey's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wallace the free kick. The supporters of Wallace booed when Caffey was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tony Locke didn't get a good kick on the ball. Robert Freeman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabrizio Hayward having to interfere. Wallace's Robert Freeman got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Robert Freeman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 27 minutes of play, Wallace's Robert Freeman made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fabrizio Hayward was left in no man's land by his defense there! 31 minutes into the game, Jessop Fraser was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wallace's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Caffey the free kick. A collision led to Wallace getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Jessop Fraser hit a great ball. Clark Wilson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 33rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Biggs Legg. Wallace's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Fabrizio Hayward came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Wallace's Robert Freeman. But to his dismay, Robert Freeman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After having played for 42 minutes, Dugald Maciver managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caffey's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dugald Maciver was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Crawford Tauschke stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Pete Shirdon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Biggs Legg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brye Atterton in the 53rd minute of play. Robert Freeman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Fabrizio Hayward made a huge save. Pete Shirdon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dugald Maciver fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Biggs Legg having to interfere. Biggs Legg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pete Shirdon, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Crawford Tauschke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Fabrizio Hayward tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 67 played minutes Caffey got a freekick which was hit by Dugald Maciver. Dugald Maciver fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Biggs Legg having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Wallace's Jessop Fraser got a free kick in the 78th minute. Pete Shirdon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Biggs Legg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wallace's Biggs Legg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pete Shirdon in the 89th minute of play. After having played for 90 minutes, Pete Shirdon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caffey's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pete Shirdon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 92 minutes into the match, Pete Shirdon notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Wallace's Biggs Legg. Biggs Legg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Wallace getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Berke Waterland hit a great ball. In the 97th minute of the match Clark Wilson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Biggs Legg showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The Wallace supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Wallace would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
