Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Balgowan's Bruce Tarrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Norm Carberry in the 3rd minute of play. Northmead's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Porter Legg in the 5th minute. It was a well-played corner which Mark Pywell managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Carter Monson charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carter Monson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Carter Monson hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Bartholemew Arkinstall recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Neville Bonham during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Balgowan's Neville Bonham got a free kick in the 17th minute. The supporters of Northmead booed when Balgowan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hal Curtis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bruce Tarrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Burt Cochrane, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 29 minutes, Barry Mckinnes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Balgowan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Barry Mckinnes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Abraham Plummer made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Navin Swan sent off a good shot on target. Barry Mckinnes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Abraham Plummer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Barry Mckinnes struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Abraham Plummer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Balgowan. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Barry Mckinnes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Barry Mckinnes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abraham Plummer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Navin Swan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abraham Plummer having to interfere. 92 minutes into the match, Northmead's goal looked a bit too open when Barry Mckinnes came free, but Abraham Plummer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 93 minutes, Norm Carberry mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Northmead and the Balgowan players grew even worse after the yellow card. Norm Carberry kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. In the 94th minute Barry Mckinnes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abraham Plummer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Navin Swan scored 2-0 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Abraham Plummer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Balgowan's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
