The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 4 minutes, Bruce Mcmanamny managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Northern Tigers FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bruce Mcmanamny was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 8 minutes, Martin Brotherton made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Northern Tigers FC's Porter Raison tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Meandarra's Davey Beckwith pulled a muscle in his back after 11 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Aden Rose charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aden Rose the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 11 played minutes Northern Tigers FC got a freekick which was hit by Aden Rose. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Martin Brotherton in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Porter Raison saved Northern Tigers FC from getting behind. If Martin Brotherton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Northern Tigers FC's zone, Martin Brotherton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Porter Raison came out of the goal and Martin Brotherton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adam Oconnell took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 31st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Porter Raison. Northern Tigers FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 35th match minute, Northern Tigers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bath Parryman to maneuver through the defense. Martin Brotherton hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. The supporters of Northern Tigers FC booed when Meandarra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rob Reichelt didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Dante Kuskop had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Jarrett Slattery showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bruce Mcmanamny in the 57th minute of the match. Martin Brotherton could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Porter Raison made a huge save. Meandarra's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rob Reichelt in the 65th minute. The corner ended in Rob Reichelt almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Northern Tigers FC's Porter Raison did a great save. Martin Brotherton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Porter Raison having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dante Kuskop in the 79th minute of play forced Meandarra's goalkeeper Jarrett Slattery to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 80th minute, Bruce Mcmanamny made a precise shot to the right of Jarrett Slattery. Meandarra's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Martin Brotherton's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Porter Raison read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. In the 94th minute, Raymond Kepert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
