When Neal Freeman came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Newmarket Roses fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Neal Freeman couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Neal Freeman in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kelvin Flesfader prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Edmonds Goucher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Barry Lonergan in the 83rd minute of play. Neal Freeman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Kelvin Flesfader tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 91 played minutes, Chelsea's Eden Quinane shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Edmonds Goucher came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Chelsea reached it. In the 92nd minute, Jamese Fortington hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot by Samuel Hoey from long distance, 93 minutes into the match, got Edmonds Goucher's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Edmonds Goucher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Barry Lonergan in the 95th minute of play. After having played for 97 minutes, Neal Freeman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Newmarket Roses's supporters crossed their fingers, but Neal Freeman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
