Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Darwin's Dani Dorrell started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Darwin's James Barker quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Potter Rosenboom, made in the 7th minute of the game. Archie Watts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Nathan Kernick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 31 minutes, Dani Dorrell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Darwin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dani Dorrell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Darwin's Archie Watts got a free kick in the 44th minute. 46 minutes into the match, Darwin's goalkeeper Lawrence Egel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nathan Kernick. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Damon Reynolds made the kick off in the second half. Nathan Kernick recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lawrence Egel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nathan Kernick in the 60th minute of the match. Nathan Kernick sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 71st minute, Dani Dorrell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nathan Kernick received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Lawrence Egel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dani Dorrell received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rick Pound came out and tried to block the shot, but Dani Dorrell slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 84th minute. Lawrence Egel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nathan Kernick, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. When Ray Tupman fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Oladdie's protests and gave Ray Tupman a yellow card for diving instead. In the 92nd minute, Ray Tupman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 94 minutes, Dani Dorrell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Darwin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dani Dorrell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Darwin walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
